How to remotivate a regressing 2 half year old

Started training DS in October (2.3)but since Christmas he's relapsed and seems to always do a bit of/ a lot of wee in his pants before saying he needs the loo. It's SOOOO frustrating! We've also had a lot more major puddles on the floor. He always says 'no' when asked if he needs the loo and I've resorted to taking him kicking and screaming when I see the signs. Should I just wait until he tells me even if this means a lot of wet pants? How can I remotivate him to tell me before he lets go? He doesn't seem bothered by stickers and I don't really want to have to give chocolates as he has those at other times in the day.
I really feel like giving up so advice please! On the positive side at least he's not pooing his pants that often. Am expecting again in March but think it's too soon for that to be affecting DS and toilet training. Did I start training too early?
