My 3 1/2 year old DS has just informed me he'd like to try going to bed with no nappy on. I'm totally up for it. I have put a plastic sheet under a normal sheet on his bed. Any quick tips before he goes to bed
What should he wear on the bottom? I was going to just leave him with nothing as thought maybe in the middle of the night he'd be more aware of being semi naked rather than mistaking pants for a nappy.
Wondered about during the night. Should I wake him and take him to the toilet, or leave him all night and talk about wet/dry outcome in the morning?
Sorry for not doing a search on this, I'm sure the answers are around. It's just I'm on a time limit here he's going to bed soon.
Any tips welcome and thanks in advance!

just put him in PJ bottoms
don't wake him, or carry him to the loo
that sets a precedent
you'll find out in the morning if he's ready

to clarify the aim is for them to sleep through without bed wetting and to wake themselves to go to the loo if they need to, so carrying them at midnight defeats the object

agree with Compo just put to bed in pjs, should be fine if he made decision are his nappies norm dry in morns, if not you could tell to wear one more nappy tonight and if it is dry tomorrow he dosen't have to wear them any more

well he's in bed now. He has pj's on but no nappy. To be honest I'm not putting all my hopes on him staying dry cos his nappies are never dry in the mornings. The only reason I'm letting him try it tonight is that the last few mornings when he's taken his nappy off, he's been asking about why he only has them at night and I've been testing the waters to see what he thinks of the idea. If he's wet in the morning I'll probably just put him back in a nappy tomorrow night.
Thanks for the advice x
