...what are the ideal longies?

I really fancy trying some wool longies but worry they will be too hot/scratchy/leaky/smelly... They sound fabulous but I can't quite believe they will work.

I use fleece at night so should have some faith - but I stick my fleecey wraps in the wash with my nappies every morning and you can't really do that with wool, can you?

And will I have to start hugging trees?

I love wool longies now - wasn't too sure when dd was at the sitting stage (we got compression leaks).

My absolute favourites are from The Hollow Oak and are wool interlock rather than knitted/crocheted yarn iyswim.

Most of the knitted ones I have were knit by my mum but the others I have are Babylonglegs and Flowerpottots. They work well but I usually take an extra pair out with me and swap at each change between the two. The interlock ones can go all day.

I use a baby beehinds wool wrap at night with no problems.
I just knitted this wool soaker but I'm keeping it for summer when we don't cover it up with tights.

I've recently discovered the woolly love, after getting a soaker in november, and it's been on my dd every night since! Not one leak either!

So that prompted me to invest in a pair of longies, which i got the day before yesterday - i got mine from Tempestous Poppet as a custom, and the lady that owns it was wonderful, talking me through every stage, finding out exactly what i wanted, and keeping me updated regularly. I also got another soaker from her too.

And i'm currently waiting for a custom longies from Natural Knits For Nippers - and she's been great to work with too!

Sod him!!!

We can be non lentil knitting, new woolly lovers together!!!

swampster · 17/01/2009 01:18

Deal! But I will wait for DS3 to arrive in Feb - DS2 is a bit long in the tooth at two-and-a-half to be pulling the wool over!

But I CAN knit a mean lentil if I have to and I have been known to hug a few trees.

What is needed to make the wool waterproof? I have purchased some shorties, I hope that they're good!

Isaidno · 22/01/2009 22:08
