Is it me or is everyone becoming boil wash and sterilising obsessed!

Someone come and tell me i'm not alone in washing at 30 no soaking, no napisan etc, ecoballs. Or am i doing it all wrong??

no, you are sane, I don't understand all this nappy extremism.

wontbepreggersagain · 16/01/2009 13:38

thank god for that- i was seriously doubting myself after all the "oooh no never use the same nappies on more than one child without first heating them to 761 degrees to kill off the bacteria"

blimey can you imagine my lack of life if i had to keep each child's nappies seperatly!

Oh yes, totally sane.

I don't soak, sterilise or boil either and never have. I do wash at 40 just because it seems sensible to wash above body heat.

If I did wash at 30 by accident I certainly wouldn't re-wash.

Mind you if she's got a tummy bug I wash at 60, but I'd do that with the sicky clothes then too.

I've been using washables for 4 years, and wash at 40 95% of the time.

I did try with ecoballs, but the nappies really stank (dd1 has very strong ammonia smell to her wee).

Have also done the odd wash at 60 - usually after tummy bugs, etc

no soaking or sterilising (really? nappies?) and definitely no keeping the nappies separate - life is far too short!

Real nappy slatterns use disposables

WTBP you are sooo right. i do wash my nappies at 60 but don't soak or sterilise them. When DC2 comes along, I'll just give them a 30/40 wash to freshen up and then use them again. Loads of my friends think I must boil wash to get clean. Uh no - that would KILL my nappies.
