DD is 16mo and starting to get "trying". she usually has a two hour nap after luch thank all the gods. But today she was waking up after an hour could hear on monitor.

The monitor has a talk function so i said naptime still back to sleep and she has!!

now I feel mean like a disembodied voice is ordering her around and this will freak her out.

The only reasons i tried it was DH did it once and it worked and if i went in to her room to settle her should has never gone back over.

opinions or slatings please

Excellent! good on you.

If it worked, and she was happy, then that sounds absolutely great!

Blimey, if it works, go for it!

My disembodied voice shouts up the stairs every bloody bedtime and oddly, the kids are fine!

Mums are all powerful and all knowing to young 'uns. She would just happily accept that this is another of your amazing talents

Enjoy it while it lasts

Hahaha. I have thought exactly the same thing meg, I thought about talking through it but then thought about how much it would freak me out hearing a voice coming from nowhere!!
But I'm really silly, if it works, stick with it, I'm sure it wouldn't have any negative affect on child or they wouldn't put them as a function on the monitor.

nickytwotimes · 13/01/2009 14:24

No, if it upset her, she would QUICKLY let you know!

megcleary · 13/01/2009 14:28

yes she is a fan of "now mummy" so she would let me know,

ah ladies you have calmed my soul

I often think DH and I are hard on her at times so much on here about co sleeping etc but we never got on with it so shes been in her own room since 4mo (grew out of moses basket) DH says it is encouraging independance sorry am drifting........

All sounds pretty normal to me

She knows your voice, she knows it's you. Don't stress.
