Hi there,

DD has only been swimming a few times (loved it). We borrowed a floaty swim seat thing from friends last time but think she might've outgrown this now.

Wondering about arm bands, float suits or seats. Any advice?

TIA

We have always used arm bands for ds but I know they are frowned upon by some.

I have a thomas floaty swim seat thingy if you want it, my DS used it at a year and a half so should fit.

And I would say armbands are more for children abit older just because not all children can use them properly. Personally re the frowned upon thng Id rather have my child in arm bands being frowned upon than drown

all of our have used floatsuits soemthing like these. they dont look particularly cool but teh kids loved them and they are very safe as they cant get them off

ours had inflatable inserts but these are foam i think

DS2 15mths0 has armbands, its about this age that they learn to be able to support themsleves in the water and stay upright with armbands on.

The armbands were recommended by his swimming teacher

Thanks. I've just got a cheapo swim seat from eBay - and I think I'll invest in a float suit with UV protection for when we go abroad in the Summer.
