My DS started walking a month ago and is just covered in bruises around his head because he keeps falling over.He is just so unsteady on his feet bless him,he falls badly on average twice a day and although we have made our house as safe as possible he just seems to land on a toy or against things.
I feel awful for him the poor little thing but he is a curious, boisterous little thing. Not sure why i posted this TBH i suppose i just need someone to tell me its "normal"

Normal. We thought DS had fractured his cheekbone about a week before his first birthday. The OOH doctor reassured us he hadn'bt but the black eye in his birthday pics is a corker!

It's a rubbish time, they're so bloody dangerous! Pulling things over, getting tired and crashing around, generally being totally unaware of any sort of hazard. Give it a couple of months and he'll be much more steady on his feet, then you can forget about the constant injuries!

My 20 month old still falls over all the time, she's always in such a blimmin rush! I'm sure it's normal!

He'll be fiiiiiiine.

I read somewhere that bruises help children grow.

My DD is same age as your DS and is currently sporting a bruised forehead, cut next to her eye and a bruise on her nose! Shes been walking for about a month and falls over quite a lot, this particular incident happened when she fell and banged her head on the tv unit. Dont think it helps that she was wearing tights and walking on a wood floor!

My dd2 was like this, she started walking at 11 months and was always falling over and covered in bruises. she still is covered in bruises and it's generally because she doesn't take her time to get to where she's going and rushes everywhere.

so don't worry it's normal
