Erm... my dd is falling asleep into her lunch... does this happen?

She was up really early and hasn't napped, but still... her eyes keep closing and she starts snoring and her head falls forward into her plate.

She had something that disagreed with her yesterday (grapefruit, lesson learned) and that, along with her last teeth coming through is what had her up early.

I've just put her to bed for a nap now. She's 16 months. Should I be worried?

Well i wouldn't worry! My DD3 falls asleep into her food occaisonally still and she is 2. If it happened every day i would start wondering if she was sleeping properly at night though!

Ha - no, not every day. She's sound out now - thanks, though!

DS did this several times at that age. I have a collection of photos of him asleep in various lunches...

I have a photo of DD asleep in her highchair with a piece of pizza hanging out of the mouth

I worked in a nursery and a few children did this at lunch (which was just before nap time). Especially when trying to ajust to our routine.

LOL @ the Falling-asleep-in-dinner Photo Collection. I have those too!

Another one with high chair sleep photos, I think most parents have them!

My brother used to be brilliant at this, just used to conk out in his chair with a mouth full of food! He's one of those people who can sleep anywhere.
DS did it a few times when he dropped his morning nap and so was knackered by lunchtime. Never managed to get a photo though as he would wake up with the flash.

aw it's amazing how they can just fall instantly asleep onto their plates, isn't it?
