How do I go about finding out about Insurance policies taken out by parents who have now passed away?

Long story but hubby's parents took out insurance policies with the Co op (Who merged, dont remember who they converted to?) in his name.

Both parents have now died. ITs come to light that policies were taken out for all of his sisters. The certificates can not be found due to a falling out with the eldest sister who we think has destroyed them.

Any advice on how to go about finding out about them - surely the money must be sat somewhere?

Hiya, Have vague recollection of co op either merging with woolwich or just becoming cis. According to google news on the archives there was a merger dont know if this helps...

you can try contacting the company- you'll need to be able to pass data protection (ie confirm their names, DOB, address etc)

if you have trouble, then Financial Services Authority (FSA) are there to help with complaints / procedures.

you might need an executor / solicitor to write to them, and probably provide death certs aswell.
