Using a baby carrier

I'm planning on going out tomorrow and using the baby carrier I have. I'm not sure what to dress ds2 in. I don't want him to get cold but I also don't want him to get too hot being cuddled up to me.

What would you suggest?

Wha sort of carrier is it?
If it is a wrap, so already has 2 or 3 layers over him, then justa vest and sleepsuit and hat will do and put your coat overhim, then you can take your coat off when you are inside and he will be fine.
same for ring slings/mei tais

Dunno about other carriers, sorry!

Just a note of caution - I have a wrap sling and DS is usually fine in just vest and sleepsuit, but we were out and about during Sunday and Monday's cold snap and he was definitely chilly. On the Monday I ended up putting him in vest/sleepsuit and trousers, long sleeved tshirt and socks over the top!

Then again, my coat doesn't do up over him in the sling, so that would probably have made a difference.

I'm now about to try it out so I will see if my coat does up over it.

I bought a massive coat specially this time round cyteen, if your coat doesn't go roudn then yes, as she says, you will need more layers, (trousers and tights are good with socks over, no leg gap then or poppers between legs).
If coat does up over then it is sooo much easier, I hate dressing weeny babies, am always convinced I am going to snap something!

or you can use a couple of clothes pegs to clip a blanket around him when he's in the wrap sling.

I put him in a cotton vest, cotton sleepsuit and fleece sleepsuit (Next), hat and gloves. If it is really cold I use a carrier cover too. Baby Bjorn make them, but I got a Mothercare one off Ebay, which is essentially a square piece of fleece with a showerproof cover , elasticated round the edges, which ties onto the carrier. We go out like this a lot. DS is quite happy in the cold.

In a wrap sling I would just have her in vest and sleepsuit, then would put legwarmers over her legs, could then just pull these off without disturbing her when we went inside.
