Bilingual and sign language?

Hello ladies,
we've just started going to sign language classes. I speak to DD in my mother tongue but the classes are held in English.
Do I speak to her in both languages when doing the signs at home?

Thanks!
Teo

Is your DD hearing impaired or are you doing babysign?

If she's hearing impaired remembered that she will be effectively trilingual and she needs to make linkages between the three languages so, although I don't have any experience of signing + spoken language I'd probably go for speaking to her in your mother tongue, unless it's completely impossible to relate the two. Sign language as a language is very different to just signs as symbols as in babysign though.
