Nursery: should I be offended?

Name changed to hide my embarassment!

This week my DD's nursery manager told me, quite plesantly, that I was one of her "most time consuming parents"

Words of comfort would be appreciated

I got told that the manager would speak to me on Tuesdays but not Thursday.

You may have to explain what you have been up to.

It's good to be time consuming sometimes, everyone should have standards.

That's a bit passive aggressive isn't it? Do you know what she means by it?

Really?? How rude of them!! I am sure you are not time-consuming, just very concerned about your DD's welfare

If it makes you feel better, I got completely blanked by the senior nursery nurse who opens the door this morning - not even a 'good morning' 'hello' or anything - normally she is quite friendly so I am now sat here wondering if I have done something wrong

Oh, I don't know ... maybe I am a bit PFB at times even though DD is now 4. And a couple of times I've spoken to nursery manager about members of staff disciplining other children too harshly in my opinion (and that of MNetters!). But I'm always giving positive feedback - and good Xmas pressies!

Just wanted to know if other MNetters have been accused of being pains in the arse, I mean "time consuming"...

It's better than apathy IMO. At least you don't drop your child and not care what happens at the nursery.

Majeika · 06/01/2009 14:42

I was once told 'Oh Mrs Majeika, you are a sort of 'apple for the teacher type parent', so would you mind coming in and making bread with the children next week?'

I was so I couldnt speak!!

Cheeky bitch, that nursery manager.
I would have given her a sharp answer.
