Not sure how/why things have gone so wrong. My 20 month year old, who used to have a pretty good bedtime routine, now refuses to go to bed until 10.30/11pm. Then he's up two or three times during the night and one of us ends up having to sleep in the bed with him. Don't get me wrong, previously he didn't sleep through ALL the time, but things were pretty good.
We have tried the controlled crying bit, but there's only so long you can listen to it. And today he was crying and really clingy with my DH on the furst day back at nursery. He hasn;t been like this for AGES, despite a week here and there away from nursery.
Could this be down to us being at my parents' house for 11 days over Christmas? My DH left to come home after four days and DS was okay - until the last couple of days/nights when he became incredibly clingy and was up screaming throughout the night unless I sat up with him.
Can anyone think of a reason for these changes? And secondly, is there a solution? Any advice would be very welcome!!

sounds over tired

get him into bed earlier and see if that helps

really help to wind him down - bath, then dark and quiet stories in his bedroom ... keep it all low key

aim for a 7 pm bedtime
