What kind of gap have you got?

We got 2 simple wooden gates from a friend - I think they're a previous version of these - and used them to turn most of downstairs into a monster playpen. But they keep DD away from the bottom of the stairs, the front door and the kitchen.

We've also got this at the top of the stairs - its perfect for us as there isn't anywhere to open a rigid gate without it getting in the way. I got it on recommendation from a colleague at work, and after seeing ours a couple of friends have also bought them. They really are incredibly neat when open.

Good luck
