Is it okay to leave a just gone 3 yo in the bath unsupervised

I recently went to pick my ds up from a playdate at his mates house.
While I was there the mates mum put her 3 yo in the bath and left him in there with the bath filling up while she saw me out the door.
I felt uneasy about it wondering if he was okay to be left like that and it worried me a little.
Just wondering is it acceptable to do this with a just gone 3 yo.
I don,t think I left my ds alone in the bath until he was at least 5 and then it was just to nip into the next room but I am a cautious parent anyway and a bit of a worrier.

I dont leave DS in the bath alone and he'll be 6 soon. Accidents in a bathroom can happen really quickly and its simply not worth the risk.

We occasionally leave dd1 in the bath unsupervised to pop and get something from dd2's room but I can see the bath from there so not strictly unsupervised and she's talking to me the whole time. Would never ever leave the taps running though.

DS isn't allowed in the bath at all while the taps are on supervised or not, I do however leave him unattended to get some jarmies from the bedroom or a towel, it's the next room thou - in fact I have a bungalow with 5 rooms in it on one floor and it's tiny.

oh n I do say to DS 'talk to mummy in a big voice' and he does

NO.

Even if the taps were off, they could be turned on and/or accidents happening within seconds of you leaving.

Noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo

I think that 3 is a bit young to be alone, I think that 4 would be ok for a short time, 6 I think you could have a cup of tea in the next room (but not downstairs).

I think that leaving any child not old enough to run their own bath alone with running taps is just plain stupid and asking for trouble.

But these are all my opinions and I accept other people have different views. If it weren't for the taps being on I would have said YABU, as it is I think I would have felt like you - uncomfortable and a bit
