Childproofing Electric Socket Area??

Is there a cage or something like that to stop my dd from going near plugs? I've got the plastic things for when the socket is not in use but how do you keep your lo away when something is plugged in or do I just accept that I can't use half the sockets in our flat? TIA

I never used anything for my ds - just told him no or distracted etc and he lost interest really quickly.

We used these -they were very effective - I don't know if you can get anything like it on the high street - ours came from Mothercare, but that was a long time ago and I don't think they do them now.
