It's really strange - DD used to sleep a max of 11 hours a night but usually 9-10. She's now on a minumum of 13 hours a night with a 2 hour nap in the day that I always wake her up from. Her language has just exploded again. Is this common at this just turned 2 age and does the increase in sleep stay or go away again .

only clicked to congratulate you on your norty xmas name, don't have anything actually useful to add!

Huh. Wish my 2 year old would join the trend!!
(It's probably to do with the language explosion - my two have both had weird sleep patterns at such times. Though as my children think sleep is for the weak, they tend towards more waking than more sleeping!)

DD usually sleeps 12 hours a night- has dropped her nap after lunchtime... and now sleeps around 13.5 hours per night. Not sure what is going on. Maybe it's because its winter and really dark and cold?

I think its the time of year.

DD (5.8) is sleeping 7 til 9 quite happily at the moment.

I don't know why either, but my DS is sleeping loads at the moment too, he's just about to turn two. I think it's a growth spurt.

Enjoy it while it lasts. DD never did this, sigh. Is she is getting a lot more exercise these days, ie climbing in park etc?
