Will a UK degree count in Australia?

My dh is Australian, I am English and we are thinking of moving to Oz. I am just starting my third year of a 5-year (part time) degree. I really would like to complete my degree, but what I want to know is if we stay here for another three years until I have completed my degree will it count in Australia? Have looked in to finishing my degree in Oz, but financially it is not doable.

What do you mean by count? Is there anything specific that you are hoping to use the degree for?

At the moment I am a SAHM. I am hoping that by gaining a degree, in life science, and getting some relevant work experience, I can use my degree to improve my employment prospects. But if it is not recognised in Oz and would not improve my employment prospects then I would reconsider finishing it.

If you are hoping for general recognition of the study, commitment etc involved in doing a degree then I think that you would get this.
I dont know what the situation would be with a vocational degree, where things might be different from place to place, but I think that something that wasnt focused on a specific career wouldnt impress an employer any less just because it was from the UK.
British universities are apparently well regarded overseas.
When I was at university there were australian students, who later went back to aus, and who have found work related to their degrees. I also have a number of british friends now working in aus in areas that utilise their UK degrees. I've not heard of anyone having problems with this, even in quite specific fields eg medicine, social work.
hope that is of some help!

Hmm...I am not sure how it works in other degrees, but to my knowledge my OT degree would be fully recognized in OZ, as long as I am also registred with the professional body, etc...!
I believe the same goes for nurses, btw...

If you have a rough idea which kind of employment you would be seeking after you have done your degree, than maybe contacting a relevant possible employer and ask them....

Also, has your dh got family over there still, that might be able to help?
