She went from several soiled nappies a day to 1 poo a day ( big). Now nothing . She eats , sleeps as normal and we have had lots of wet nappies...should I be worried ? I have tried using a cotton bud dipped in cream to stimulate it !!! ( Nil) . Am reluctant to use the oil suppositories unless I have to ..what do you reckon ?

No leave it, totally normal and it will all come out eventually!

If she is ff I don't know if it is a problem

But, very normal in a bf baby if she is eating, sleeping and wetting and doesn't appear to be ill. Breastmilk doesn't leave much waste behind. Be prepared for the explosive one when she does go. It can be up to a week and it will be huge!! Don't go out without a change of clothes for her.

Enjoy the break from pooey nappies whilst it lasts cos you will remember these day with nostalgia when weaning starts.

(Oh and make sure you have a spare change of clothes with you if you go out as it will be messy when it does )

my bf boys used to go for a week without a poo. as long as there are wet nappies nothing to worry about.
When they did do a poo for ds1 it would be up to this armpis, for ds2 a tiny amount.

Not an experience that is easily forgotten is it, POTHG?!

Rosa, DD did this and my DS has started it too. It is common for BF babies to go for anything up to 10 days between poos once BFing is established

I had these same worries when DD was little though so I know where you are coming from. She used to go every three days and boy was it scary when it happened.

DS has setteld into every three days having four poos a day and then none on the other days which is more manageable.

Thx she is bf with the odd ff in pm when I have been racing round after dd1 and have no milk left . Will be prepared for the explosion then - it will no doubt be when I am out with both dds alone in a place where I cannot change her ...something to look forward to then
