separation anxiety - 22 month old DD

Separation anxiety began when DD was about 9 months old. She sees my mother daily (since 3 months of age!) yet howls when I leave her with her, though she's fine after 10 minutes or so.

Lately she's hello wary of strangers. If she's in the buggy she'll turn her head away and look at them from the side of her eyes, especially if there's a lot of eye contact. She gets so wound up, how can I help her? She goes to toddler groups once or twice a week and loves other children but it's grown ups she finds scary.

Is this normal - she's my pfb . How can I help her?
