am sure I read something about putting them in the dryer to melt the PU membrane back togetehr or something...

(NB it is not the binding wicking)

I haven't tried either of these but I just came across them while I was looking for advice on my own cloth nappy problem.

Tumble dry it (as you said) or wash with fabric softener.
