Any ideas for how to occupy 2 overtired, overexcited children???

I have 2 ds aged 3 and 6. Both are completely overexcited about Christmas and with the constant round of nativity plays/parties/discos etc are so tired. Their favourite activity at the moment is to wind each other up with whatever they can think of e.g. Father Christmas won't be coming to see you because you're a nasty brother etc!!!

Any ideas gratefully received otherwise I shall be raiding the gin

greenbeanie I was just saying the same thing to my friend this morning, mine are 5 and 3 and massively overexcited about Xmas. They won't settle to play with anyting, appear to have lost interest in all their toys and games, they are just waiting for Santa! I am trying to keep them busy but I don't think I can keep it going for much longer [exhausted emoticon]!

Glad to hear I am not the only one. Just like yours mine will not play with their toys they either wander around aimlessly or fight with each other. Tried making mince pies with them yesterday but they have no attention span at all and I don't think I can bear cbeebies any longer

I took mine to visit my neighbour after school today (by way of a distraction). Poor lady will be hiding behind the sofa next time she sees us coming up the path!

Suggestion on another thread: have a torch each and go for a walk in the dark - tried it last night, admired every-one else's lights & delivered christmas cards. Quite fun, fresh air (a bit too fresh, actually), exercise etc.

Tempted to write cards to people we don't know, just so we can deliver some more!

make a big Christmas collage. print out or draw some outlines - christmas trees, presents, fc, stars, stockings etc. then get dcs to colour them in, with the aim of cutting them out and sticking together into a big christmas collage/poster thingy. it might satisfy their christmassy urges but is also a very calming activity. it's especially good if you join in with them.
