Why has my ds gone from 7 to grumpy teenager seemlingly overnight? Am I alone?

Last weekend she told me I was 'worse than Shannon Matthews' mum'.

My DS1 (7yrs) is doing an excellent impression of Kevin the Teenager. Trying to stay calm but truthfully could throttle him at times.

My DD is getting like this.
She huffed in such a teenage fashion last week, "Why do I have to do alllll the housework". I had asked her to put her own clothes away
I fear it will just get worse.

Totally normal at this age, the big bad world is opening up to them and hormones are changing. It can all end up a big battlefield .
