Pop-in Problem, people! We have leaks.

I know there's a pop-in thread going on already, but this is for anyone who uses them and is finding leaks. I've been using pop-ins exclusively on my DS (now 6 months) but recently I've been experiencing problems, and I'm seeking others with the same issues!

All was well. We would often get a bit of a wet leg (mainly on the right, but he leans to the right ) which I just put up with.
Then I tried a tots bots nappy belonging to a friend, and I've had no leaks at all, so I'm a bit about the pop-in.
I may start using the booster pad during the day, although I'm wondering whether the problem is at the leg area anyway. Will report back!

Then there's the night leaks. Mega wetness by 11pm, all over the back, grobag soaked, but the booster is often still bone dry at the back.

I was wondering whether this might be a boy problem? Last night we used a pop-in with a tots bots wrap . It worked, but shouldn't be necessary. Anybody got any other solutions>

Finally, my pumpkin ones are gradually turning white!! That's a dye issue.

well, MB should really give you shares now for sorting their boy-pop-in-problems then!

Hi, I'm new to all this but after a bad night with Pop-ins found this thread through an internet search.
I bought a single pop-in from Waitrose, along with a friend of mine and we were both really impressed. I was going to have to purchase size 2 nappies so invested in 20 pop-ins. My friend did the same and has had problems as you've described - leaking up the back from the beginning. I was doing fine and really impressed with mine but last night I had to do 3 nappy changes - everytime I fed my ds he was damp! I'm feeling gutted and am very interested to know if there is a solution.
I was wondering if it could have anything to do with nappy creams because my ds had a sore bot so I'd been liberal with nappy cream and know this causes problems with fleece lined nappies!?

Hi,

I'm new to Mumsnet. I have 30 pop-in nappies, 5 Version2 original bamboo, 4 version2 dream-dri and 21 version3 dream-dri.

I have a little boy who is a long but skinny 5 month-old. I have been using the pop-ins since about 2 months old. I found when he was very little (when I only had the bamboo ones) that they were too big and bulky on him so I used disposables instead.
I find the V3 dream-dri are a better fit as they are slimmer but they leak more than the V2 of either type and that the V2 originals are the best for leaks - they last most of the night without a booster! They are all better than the disposables for poo leaks but... wee leaks around the legs, whichever version, when they are full. The V3 dream-dri is the worst for leaks - they only last for an hour in the mornings (when he wees the most) but are better in the evenings.
What I have taken to doing is putting in an extra cotton booster from a pack of second-hand variety nappies - they are about the same size as the pop-in booster and I put them in under the soaker. This seems to increase the time before leaks as it is an extra layer of absorbancy.

I have tried putting the nappies on the higher popper setting than he should need and doing them up tight but this doesn't seem to work.
My problem is a skinny boy with a long body...

I just discovered some Boots smart nappies for newborns in my pack and am going to try using these as boosters. I am also going to cut-up one of the pop-in boosters and try a single layer boost under the soaker. I think the problem is the low absorbancy and I think the problem is worse with boys as they wee more than girls!

I'll let you know how I get on.

Well i have 4 bamboo pop in's and 2 dreami dri pop in's and have used them for 16mth on my DS, I can honestly say i can count the No of leaks on one hand. we get on fine with them, both day and nite.
I prefer the dream dri ones as dont leave his skin as wet.

I have no problems with DS's pop-ins. DS is 2. I always make sure willy is pointing downwards or he pees right out the top of them. Unfortunately he's growing right out of them now :(
