What GCSE's are needed to be a teacher?

I'm nearly in my final year of my English degree and I'm deciding whether to go down the GTP route or do a PGCE. Does anyone know which GCSEs are required to get on either of these secondary English courses?
Thanks in advance.

Hi, at the moment I'm looking into doing a degree with the open unviersity with a view to go onto a teaching course afterwards. From the info I've found online you need Maths and English and if you want to teach in secondry schools then your degree needs to be in that subject.

just maths and english

bare knuckle fighting and pantomime would also be useful

lol @ kalo12
Cheers everyone, that's what I hoped it would be. I was just a bit confused cos it says Science as well for key stage 2/3 on the TDA website.
