Flexitot fabric seems to be 'thinning'

I have 4 Flexitots and have been really happy with them for DD3 (4 months). However, the fabric on the inner seems to be 'thinning' and there are bald patches. I bought them in two goes and this is happening to the first lot - the second two have a different colour inner and seem okay - what is going on?? Has this happened to anyone else? Is it because I tumbled them or a manufacturing problem? Any suggestions?

Hi i have 6 flexitots and this is happening to mine too, i have a huge roatation of nappies and they are only about 3 months old if that so im unimpressed. I dont know if to contact the retailer or the manafacturer

DaisySparkle · 08/12/2008 22:10

I was wondering the same. The manufacturer may comment on my tumbling as a reason I guess. Can you suggest why the first two I bought had a pale fabric iner that is now bobbly and the second two have a more pale orangey inner that seems velvety (if bald in places!)?

Have flexitots too - not happening to me. Are you using the booster that snaps onto the nappy?

Would contact totsbots directly...

4CALLINGBIRDSandnotout · 08/12/2008 22:15

Mine are all velvety creamy inside, i have been using the booster but remove it for washing, i rarely tumble dry them as i put them on an airer. Have emailed the shop i bought bthem from but i think she will say to contact totsbots directly. Other than them balding i really like them.

DaisySparkle · 08/12/2008 22:17

However, just checked their website and looked at flexitots.com. Under 'care' it says wash at 60 and tumble dry low (well that's what I was taught the symbols meant...!!!). So. I have sent them a message and await their response. Has this happened to anyone else?

I have used the booster. I do really like them otherwise. DH will reach for them everytime as I think he finds them less threatening!

Watching this thread with interest as about to buy a load of flexitots when DS grows out of his stage 1 bamboozles.

I'm sure there was another thread about problems with the outer fabric and the poster got them replaced by totsbots.

needaholiday · 09/12/2008 12:33

we had a flexitot which was shedding, there's a thread further down IIRC. Seems the first batch had a faulty fabric and they changed this. Smacks a little of the original fluffle fabric being changed, and the original bamboozles. It will be interesting to see what they come back with.

4CALLINGBIRDSandnotout · 09/12/2008 14:17

I have just recieved an email back asking me to send them all back and they will be replaced and my postage refunded. Apparently they have had problems with a batch made in turkey so have now switched production back to scotland.

DaisySparkle · 09/12/2008 14:59

They will replace mine too!

so which ones are you getting exchanged? the pale ones inside or the orange velvety?

DaisySparkle · 09/12/2008 20:10

The pale ones are the worst affected so def those. The orangey ones (bamboo velour, I am assured) are not too bad, but one looks a little thin. I might send the all and get their opinion.

I was told to send them all

DaisySparkle · 09/12/2008 20:20

Will follow suit then and post them all off. Now I may have to buy some new nappies to tide me over until these are refunded.......!

Do you have details of how you contacted the manufacturer? My flexitots are doing the same thing, and although I love them I'd hope for them to be ok for dc2 (if I have one!)

4CALLINGBIRDSandnotout · 10/12/2008 20:22

I went to totsbots website
and clicked on feedback and contacted them through the general enquiry form. HTH

DaisySparkle · 11/12/2008 17:12

me too
