I have just signed up to mumsnet as i am becoming desperate and would love any help out there. My daughter is 3 and has been out of nappies and dry over night for the last 7 months, with only the very ocasional accident. She was poorly two weeks ago with a flu like virus. Was fine for a week, and has now flooded the bed every night for the last five nights. There is no apparent reason for this. Absolutely nothing has changed. I'm trying to be calm on a morning when i go in to get her up and find her soaking, as she's not doing it on purpose, but how can i help her to resolve this?

With love and patience. Boring, but true!

The chances are that this is just a blip, and she will get back into her usual rhythm soon. But until then, don't make a big thing of it. Change her, change the bed, don't say anything or let her see that you are concerned/cross/whatever.

Make up the bed in layers. Care mat at the bottom, then a sheet, then another care mat, then another sheet. When she wets, just strip off the top layer to be dealt with in the morning and then all you have to deal with is her, not remaking a bed.

Just wanted to say thank you for your reassurance. My daughter has been dry now for the past two nights, and again we've done nothing different. Seems it was a blip, and only love and patience were needed
