My eldest dd (nearly 9) is in the unfortunate position of always being the out of favour 3some in her group of 3 friends - she comes home v.upset every day & lashes out on me & her 2 younger sisters - I've told her to ignore the other 2 & find other people to play with but she has problems with doing this - don't know why but ger class is small & there aren't many alternatives. One of the other 2 is dd of my best friend & godmother to my youngest so I don't know if I should say anything to her. Does anyone have any ideas how to try & help this unhappy situation?

i would talk to your friend. you can bring it up in conversation, not in a "your dd is mean to my dd" way, but in a "oh dd has been really upset at school recently" and see if friend can suggest anything to help out? more playdates with that friend or something?

if a friend came to me and said that my child had been pushing theirs out then I would speak to mine and remind him/her that it's not very kind, and to be nicer to people in future.
