Disregarded income for student grants/loans etc

Do they disregard any money you pay out in rent? So, basically, do they minus £xrent money from your income? And then assess on whats left after that?

i don't think your rent/mortgage is taken into account for working out your loan/grant with regard to your earnings.

No they don't on mine. As i understand it there is a threshold (on mine I think it was £14k while I was actually earning enough to pay any back!) and they took 10% on any amount of money that you earn over the threshold. Hence I've only paid about £50 back during my illustrious career
