Wii versus Xbox - any advice of pros and cons?

Generous gparents want to get ds either a Wii or an Xbox.

I'm not sure which is better for a 7 yr old boy.

Can anyone tell me the pros and cons in their experience?

I know the Wii has some physically active games which sound good.

There are loads of child friendly games for the XBox.
But the Wii is more fun and for family gaming, xbox is for more serious gaming.

If you'd said he was 14 I would have said xbox but for a 7 yo I'd go with the wii. Loads of family friendly games and you can get the more 'serious' games for it as he gets older

we love ours and ds1 is 4
