I'm fed up with people commenting on fact that DS (2.5yrs) hasn't been potty trained yet!

He's only 2.5yrs...he will not tell me when he's about to do a poo or a wee, he will quite happily run away when I try to change him and not be bothered by the turd in his nappy...he clearly isn't ready for it and I, quite frankly, am not ready to be one of those mums galloping around the shopping mall with a potty 'just in case' because I'm training him too early and he misses his 'wee' cues....why make life harder than it already is??!!!

Am also tired of people who have just potty trained their DCs pulling cat's arse faces when they see DS still in nappies..

Tell 'em to jog on!

ds1 was toilet trained less than a week before his 3rd birthday, and it was so easy, just took his nappy off, put him in pants and only ever had about 2 accidents, none of the hassle if I'd tried earlier.

ds2 was fully trained a bit earlier, probably dry during the day at about 2 & a half, but that was all down to the nursery tbh, I can't take any credit for it!

Not that I'm lazy or anything, just less hassle, and less stress for all of us involved.

I totally agree with the others. DS is nearly 2.5 and he is nowhere near being ready. We have got as far as sitting him on the toilet for a wee before getting him washed in the morning and before a bath at night. If he lets us he generally needs a wee and will do one - if he refuses we've learned there's no point in pushing him.

But put him in trainer pants and he will just wee in them, and he doesn't care about being wet. And only a couple of times has he showed any concern at all about having a poo in his nappy, and he has no interest in doing a poo on the loo.

I'm just trying to relax about it. I just think his brain is far too busy learning to do jigsaws meant for 4 year olds.
