People keep asking me what to get him, ds1 is 2.5 yrs so we have most bits of plastic we need and a small house - ds2 is quite diff from ds1 and enjoys more physical toys, ds1 wasn't crawling at this age and ds2 is almost walking, he loves cars and any thing he can push along, any suggestions?

considering asking for swimming lessons or music classes but ds1 would come to these too and MIL already said she wants to buy something just for ds2 which is lovely but I'm struggling to think of ideas!

How about she take him on a day out? To the zoo or somewhere special? Then you can have a day with your ds1.

I think thats a lovely idea but she not very keen to be that hands on - sounds worse than it is! and I apprecaite knowing where I stand, they basically prefer kids when they get a little more self sufficient and can communicate - I think they find lo's scarey!
I did think of signing classes which although ds1 would come too is for ds2 as ds1 can already sign and is mostly talking.... or elc vouchers...

How about pop up tent (so you can pack it away when he's not playing with it) - DS loved crawling in and out of one at that stage. Or a wheelybug (if grandparents want to splash out)as joint birthday/xmas present?

love the pop up tent idea, we already have a tunnel for the garden in the summer (too big for inside)
