potty training - regression -need some advice

I have been potty training my ds for a month or so and for the first week or so he was fab, completly dry. He understood that he needed to go on potty or the toilet. Had a few probs with poos, but thats another issue. For the last couple of weeks he has begun to wee himself. No matter how often I ask him. Sometimes it isn't much but enough tohave to change him. I have tried sticker charts, bribery, even i'm sorry to say getting a bit angry, nothing has worked. He knows he done it and he says wet mummy, but I am losing patience quickly. He goes to preschool, and more often than not he has one accident there too.
If I leave him with no clothes on his bottom half, and have potty downstairs, he'll go without prompting every time. Is he just being lazy or am I asking too much of him? Is it an attention seeking behaviour?
I don't know whether to keep going and sooner or later he'll stop, or should I put him back in nappies and try again later on?
Has anyone been in this situation and come out the other side with their sanity intact?
