Pooing in the bath, ugh

DS is 2.7. I haven't tried potty training properly but he is showing much more awareness when pooing. He is only doing a poo every 2-3 days now because he likes lots of peace and quiet and doesn't want to do them when out or with the C/Ms. He sometimes does them in the potty or sitting on the small toilet seat, but there have been quite a few instances of poo in the bath recently.

For example the other night, he was rolling around for about a couple of hours saying he needed to do a poo. However when I put him on the potty he wouldn't do one, but wouldn't go into the conservatory (usual favourite pooing spot) in his nappy either to do one.

I kind of knew what was likely to happen before his bath so tried again to make him do it on the potty but he wouldn't. Then bingo within 2 minutes of getting in his bath, out it comes, then he did the rest of it on his potty.

I'm not angry with him , but I do explain that potties are for pooing not baths. However I think that he finds it much easier to push in the bath which is why he is doing it.

Anyone else had this and how do I make it stop !

Oh and showing no awareness of when peeing, but due to the pooing do you think he is ready for toilet training ?

I'd have a go at training - I trained my DS at 2.7 and it was really successful. He will do everything in the potty now in the night and the day. Just don't know how to progress from potty to toilet !
