DD does not want to poo on potty

Hi, my dd aged 2 yr 6 mths decided last weekend that she wanted to stop wearing nappies. She has been doing really well with weeing in potty but is not keen on pooing in either potty or toilet - she has been hanging on until her nappy is put on at night. I know it's very early days, but I'm worried about her getting constipated - is there anything I can do to encourage her to feel OK about pooing in potty/toilet? TIA

Bribes? Chocolate buttons and a sticker work for dd, as does keeping her on the toilet by means of stories and/or Pingu and YouTube, until nature takes its course, as she's distracted. We're in early days, mind...

Quite common. DS would only poo in a nappy til he was 3. Kids feel they are loosing something of themselves aparently She will get there, just time really

DD asked for nappy for poo during nappy training and I ignored her. She held her poo for two days, then pooed in potty and has been fine ever since.

Good luck.

ds (2.1 years) started pooing on the toilet when I offered him a sweetie if he pushed it out for me. I also say 'agh dont you dare splash me with that big plop plop' (what he calls a poo) and he finds that funny and tries to do it for me.
