Recommend me a nice soft nappy :)

DD is 8 weeks tomorrow and we're working our way through a mixed bundle of nappies that I bought secondhand. So far we've tried the Eco Bumble, microfibre Lollipops, cotton Tots Bots, some Sandys and a Bamboozle. We also have some Motherease BTP to try, but they look very big at the moment. I don't really have any strong preference either way, but DH is very much in favour of the microfibre Lollipops as he feels they're much softer on DD's little bottom. I'm keen to get him on the side of cloth, and mildly obsessed with nappy shopping , so can anyone recommend me some other soft nappies to have a look at? I've just bid on some secondhand Fluffles, but am under the reserve price at the moment. We don't have a tumble drier. Quite like the Bamboozle, though it takes ages to dry (though we have so many nappies that that isn't really an issue I suppose ).

I like the bambinex teddies - they have quite a high rise and fit v well.www.snugglebumnappies.co.uk/catalog/index.php/cPath/1_8_144
They dry very fast too.

The microfibre lollipops are popular for newborns because of their softness but when your DD is older the bulk may put you off a bit. You have to consider what is against your DDs bottom - I use fleece liners so (unless we have a stiff hemp nappy on) there is always something soft against the skin - with the added bonus of it being a stay-dry barrier.

Other soft, quick drying nappies which haven't already been mentioned are

Lollipop microFLEECE - very soft and squidgy and fully fleece lined.

Microterry Diddy Diaper (aka the microdiddy)

Thirsties - not quite as thristy as they are made out to be but good nonetheless.

Any fleece lined pocket nappy (even more soft if it has a microfibre insert instead of bamboo or hemp. Wonderoos and Bumgenuis are good ones to try as they tend to suit a more wide variety of shapes than others.

You could also look at these but they are slower drying...

Totsbots Flexitot -drying time is the same as the bamboozle (or worse!)

Easy Peasy Bambeasy - quicker drying than a bamboozle

p'tits dessous toudou

SAndy's are good. The bamboo sandy is lovely and soft but takes an age to dry, the organic cotton sandy seems to stay softer than the normal cotton. Adding a glug white malt vinegar to your wash cycle helps keep the nappies soft too.

Happy shopping

ooo the inside of a happy heiny is super soft malden mills fleece and makes anyone want hold it forever - they dont stay as soft though lol but as previous poster mentions pockets and some shaped nappies have a fleece or suedecloth lining which whilst being soft offer a stay dry layer in case like my lo they are fussy about feeling wet. Other microfibre feling ones then are as mentioned the bambinex teddy which comes in nice colours too, the flexitot and tots have bought out an onesize AIO which has the fluffle thing going on in the inside but looks like a kind of bumgenius inthe outside but with smarter cross over tabs. Tis all good fun. I looooooooooooooooooove pockets though..... you gotta pick a pocket or twwwwwwoooooooo

nannyL · 22/11/2008 18:30

the lollipop softee ones arejust sooooooo soft and lovely

lollipopmother · 22/11/2008 19:01

Nature Babies Lovables would be great, they're microfibre - not pile like Fluffles but completely flat so no bulk, and they are fleece lined. They dry in about 2hrs as well so brilliant for your stash and are nippa fastening so good for littlies.

ninja · 22/11/2008 19:03

the bambinex teddies are fab as they're the kind of microfibre that doesn't catch on your skin

Anglepoise · 22/11/2008 20:35

Thanks - lots for me to look at there
