The other day Ds1 (5) was asking me for another 'apple pie-angle'

I realised he meant an apple turnover. Quite clever really!

I really DDs combination animal descriptions:

She saw a badger and called it a panda-mouse

She says funty for elephant so when she saw a Clanger toy she said it was a funty-mouse.

citronella · 22/11/2008 16:46

cotinder = cucumber
hold it milk = milk in a shaped bottle
bikik = biscuit
tato = tomato

LadyLauraStandish · 22/11/2008 16:48

I love panda-mouse - fantastic!

hit bat ball = cricket
kick ball= football
up high net = basketball

Its made life so much easier now he can tell WHICH ball game he wants to play.

nelliesmum · 22/11/2008 22:12

My 3 yr old calls the Lollypop lady at the school the "Ladypop".

whyme2 · 22/11/2008 22:21

My dd calls ds's penis his "wee wee tank".
I suppose it makes sense - the tank that holds his wee . .

JoyS · 22/11/2008 22:37

DD1 calls the dummy the "mouth-fill-up"

Plonker · 22/11/2008 22:55

dd1 calls sneezes "atchoos", even NOW she still never remembers the word 'sneeze' and always says that she needs to atchoo. She's 8!

dd3's auntie is Auntie Shell - she can often be heard shouting loudly for "arse hole" poor Auntie Shell

Plonker · 22/11/2008 22:56

...and it didn't bode well when she tried to tell Auntie Shell about the 'fuck' (fox)

Plonker · 22/11/2008 22:57

Was rather like an episode of Father ted

DoNotAsfinishedXmasshopping · 22/11/2008 23:05

Well I am going to add my cut toddler words to this thread...not strictly ones which make sense but I am gonna do it anyway!

Trolly Shop - Tesco (well this one does make sense)
Dangadual - triangle
Widder-one - other one

footballsgalore · 22/11/2008 23:13

Not sure it quite fits the OP but DS (2.10) asked me to draw Father Christmas for him tonight, then insisted I add Santa's goat to the picture.
Took me a while to realise he meant reindeer

nelliesmum · 22/11/2008 23:21

My dd asked where Santa was the first time we took her to Center Parcs (Santa Parcs...get it???)

girlandboy · 22/11/2008 23:36

An umbrolly is an umbrella of course.

Though up-ween is ice-cream, which caught on and I'm afraid I call it that now as well.

CarrieCunningstunt · 22/11/2008 23:43

My DD re-labelled the Trafford centre in Manchester the Traffic centre which I thought was rather apt

nappyaddict · 22/11/2008 23:58

DS saw a reindeer in a picture today and called it a duck. i said no sweetie it's a reindeer. then he called it a dog

Marks Expensive is what it should be called!!

Here are DS':

All boots are wellies.

Whenever we pass shops he thinks we are going to the market. Not sure if he means supermarket or actual market!

All barking dogs are naughty dogs.

Anything with an umbro badge is football so and so.

He calls the bus a bussy.

My cousins used to say they wanted to sit in the very high back (very back seats of a people carrier)

nappyaddict · 22/11/2008 23:59

the people carrier one stuck. i still say it now and they are 7 in may.

LoolaBoys · 23/11/2008 18:51

DS1 is now 5 but the other day to describe something with a hole in it as, 'no Mummy the middle wasn't coloured in'

choufleur · 23/11/2008 19:11

Combination of crodile and the sound they make (snap) = snapodile for DS

choufleur · 23/11/2008 19:12

DVDVDs to watch any film.

mrsmaidamess · 23/11/2008 19:13

choufleur · 23/11/2008 19:21

eandh · 23/11/2008 19:46

another mumsnetters son calls me 'my chell' if I ring (my name is Michelle but he cant work it out bless him )

lilymolly · 23/11/2008 20:00
