23 month old has been using the potty as and when she wants since she was 14 months old - no sign of it becoming reliable.

how/when do I move this on? She uses the potty several times a day, but on her own terms - i.e. only when she is naked. If she has a nappy or pants on she'll do it there, if shes got nothing on her bottom half she's about 95% reliable.

What can I do now to move us on to the next step? her sister sort of cracked it instantly - once she knew what we wanted it was all done in a week.

If she goes when she's naked then she must know how to recognise the urge to go. Can you tell when she's about to go in her nappy - does she stop playing and concentrate or anything like that? If you could recognise that, you could run her to the potty, and try to get her used to going every time. Is she confident in getting nappy/pants off in time to use the potty?

hi teeny - this is what I think - she does seem to know whats what. I've never noticed her stop anything with wee, but if she has a nappy on when she needs to poo she'll hide behind something. I guess I should be more alert to that but its always with hindsight that you can see she wasnt just playing behind the door or telly or whatever. I suppose that could be a start.

Yes, she definitely sounds like she has the awareness to be fully potty trained, and if she's using it some of the time, you're 3/4 of the way there! Good luck, maybe someone with better advice will see this and can help you as well!
