Help please with my dd (5) and ds (11) constant sniping etc....

I am really getting to the end of my tether with my two - they do not stop from the minute they get up and I often end up shouting at them as its getting me down so much. My dd (5) is very stroppy and just does not seem to like her brother at all and my ds (11) is just a bit of a wind up merchant for want of another expression. I wont to stop this behaviour but dont know where to start. I have tried ignoring, talking and shouting/punishing them but nothing appears to be working - please can anyone suggest anything that has worked for them - I think I need some sort of Supernanny

I have to seperate my older 2 in the morning as it ends up in fisticuffs....I tend to treat the older one as the more responsible one and let them take the lead...maybe sit him sown and talk to him in an adult sort of way iyswim...HTH

it sounds like typical 11 year old boy behaviour to wind up his kid sister.
and then of course little girls can be really stroppy at five its a bad mix.
May be you could deny them both something whenever they argue sorry have no experience of this with my ds being an only.

have tried talking till blue in the face - my 5 year is so stroppy is so weird when ds was a little one he was a bugger but not like this - girls I suppose are different but wow so different - its not like she mirros our behaviour we have our moments like all families but on the whole I get along with DP and we all tick along but its really starting to wear me out constantly being a referree !!!
