ds1 (2.7) would happily live off milk. I've indulged him a bit as he's been ill recently and hasn't had much of an appetite.

I want to stop this now though as he just wants to drink milk - if I ask him if he would like x for tea he just shouts ''milky''.

He did this today for lunch and I told him he could have milk if he ate some food first...he ate a slice of marmite on toast and then asked for milk which I gave him. Do you think this is the right approach? He's a very fussy eater and I just don't want to make it worse.....

BLW He's having milk from a bottle still. I#m waiting for ds2 to turn 1 in a couple of months time and then the bottle fairy will come for both boys....

i think that is what i would do in that situation, am a bit shocked that at 2.7 he still has a bottle though, my DS has drank everything from a nuk learner cup since 6 months.

if he loves milk so much that could be the bait you need to get him onto sippy cups by telling he can have milk but only if he has it out of a 'grown up' cup

i am probably totally off the mark, my ds is only 10 months so i have all this to come, lucky me

yes i know am regretting not taking the bottle away when he was younger and not so attached to it....this is why I want to do the whole bottle fairy thing with ds2 when he is 1....he will drink water from a cup but is very resistant to the idea of milk from a cup.....

dont be i was just shocked because the thought of DS drinking from a bottle is very strange.

just carry on ith the 'you can have milk after your breakfast/lunch/tea' because its not bad for him, good for his bones and then he has a reward for eating his food, i'm sure he will grow out of it.
