My godmother is fab she got my dd a lovely little silver bangle to keep!
She even get's dd and ds cards for birthdays and xmas saying from your godmother!

Charm bracelet ? I have a goddaughter and got her a charm bracelet for her christening and then buy her charms on important occasions (so far, when her little sister was born and when she started school).

DS1's godmum bought him a yellow rose to be planted in the garden called "Happy Child" - we still have it and he is now 11.

I love the plant idea but I was given an orchid when DD was born and it dies a couple of weeks later, which meant that the gesture had gone away

Mind you - my friends have just bought a new house where they're planning to be for years....
