Hello
we started toilet training, using Gina Gord's book ("potty training in a week") on Monday, so it is early days!

Everything is going well, lots of use of the potty.....

My question is, when do accidents stop?

Tonight DD did massive wee on the kitchen floor, thank goodness we were at home. we have been staying very close to home all week...but wondering when we can start to venture out?

I know each child is different, but guidelines?

Thanks

We haven't used a book or anything, but 2 weeks or so in, we're down to 1 accident a day at most. None most days. Week 1 was all accidents!

SoupDragon · 14/11/2008 21:26

There are no guidelines!

Generally speaking, the accidents have stopped by the time they're 10 though.

Nah,its just that a while back Gina Ford sued Mumsnet over some comments by us the general public posting on it resulting in a lot of brouhaha over it all...Lots of stuff about freedom of speech and all that....Welcome Tis a fabulous place, very addictive.

My dd1 age 5 doesn't have accidents any more. dd2 (3 on Monday) has some occasionally, normally if something else is going on, i.e if we have visitors.

It takes a few weeks to get everything sorted, we just took a porta potty and spare clothes everwhere with us for a month or so and then it was fine.
