How do they feel about what's shown on TV5 on a Saturday and Sunday morning? That's presumably pitched at the full age range so maybe something will appeal?

From memory, there's Pacha et les Chats (animated puppets), Mila raconte mille et une histoires, Adibou Aventures (educational), Atomic Betty, Norman Normal, and something else educational whose name escapes me for the moment. Only problem is at least some of them are Canadian so I don't know how easy they are to get - though I do know Amazon.fr has Atomic Betty. SamSam and Inuk used to be on there too - though again, Inuk is Canadian.

I have no idea about my 5yo as I always make him watch CBeebies (by satellite) if I'm around, but I'll ask him (and DH) in the morning...

Hmmm, well I did ask DS1 and DH but they weren't much help! DS1 couldn't remember the names apart from one called "Les Petits Dinosaures", and DH just said you should get a satellite dish
To be honest I think a lot of the cartoons here are originally American or whatever anyway and just dubbed into French, so maybe you could choose shows they like in English and get the French versions?

check out lachaine.tf1.fr/lachaine/jeunesse/ & on the right hand side you can choose a list of kids cartoons

what out for the violent tv ad if you've got your kids next to you (it's on a kids tv page)
