Congratulations - submission is a wonderful thing, isn't it? tomorrow morning will be lovely to wake up to - no writing, no checking... Will you have a viva?

jofeb04 · 10/11/2008 20:48

Congratulations..... you deserve that champagne

yummybunnymummy · 10/11/2008 21:17

thank you am getting merry as we speak!
(habbibu, I submitted earlier in the year and already had my viva, which was really hard, they were really attacking!).

I just haven't stopped crying, I always thought I was sooo stupid and 'pretending' to be a academic with dc etc.. I never thought I would finish and get it...could never imagine it being over.

Upwind · 11/11/2008 08:25

Congratulations

Habbibu · 11/11/2008 13:55

Oh, I see! Well, even MORE congratulations, esp. getting through tough viva. Dr ybm, I salute you - I think it's an extraordinary achievement with children in particular - always looked in awe at part time PhD students with families - had no idea how they - you! - did it.

Suedonim · 11/11/2008 22:23

Congratulations! That must be a weight off your shoulders. It's almost a year since my ds got his PhD, in the same week he got married (great planning! ) He did his in record time for his dept, 3yrs 3wks, but at his graduation I was more impressed by a woman who got her PhD despite having two tiny children, aged about 15ths and 2.5yrs. And she was all blonde and glamorous!

yummybunnymummy · 24/11/2008 23:04

have just received my graduation pack and booking my gown as we speak!!!!!!!!!! woohoo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

yummybunnymummy · 24/11/2008 23:05

Don't forget to book your appt with the photographer! Btw, ds2 got 'papped' by the local press at his graduation. His wife was v cross that they mentioned her age but not his.

yummybunnymummy · 24/11/2008 23:28

lol

I am the older woman in our relationship (blush , sign emotionicon thingy)...no press but my dad with a camera trigger happy finger!
