I think DS needs his first haircut, could I do it myself?

DS is 1 year old and is steadily growing a mullet! He still has quite fine wispy hair on most of his head apart from his fringe, but straggly bits are now hanging over his ears and at the back so he is looking like a weird combo of Liam Gallagher and Pat Sharpe.

I don't really want to take him to a hairdressers as he just needs a few bits trimmed so could I do it myself?

Any tips on how to do it? I've never cut hair in my life so don't want it to look dodgy!

I do my DS, aged 2. It's funny how quickly the ear bits grow!

I just sit him in the bath, get the nail scissors out and get bits of hair between my fingers, keeping my fingers as if they were cupping his head, if you see what I mean, don't get lumps of hair and cut them straight across, you want to be holding the bits of hair straight between two fingers , as if you were preparing them to be put in dreadlocks, held more or less vertical and then trimming vertically too. (hard to describe in words!!).

Also, don't take too much off!!! also, choose a time when he is calm, eating some raisins or whatever, so he will sit relatively still for a while.
