Hi. My ds, who is 2 and 10 months, is on day 5 of potty training, and until today had been doing really well. He'd been at home, with short trips out only, in pants and not fully dressed, and was getting (chocolate) treats every evening for using the potty. This was, however, with much prompting from me. Today I decided to prompt him less - hand over the control to him - and we also went to a playgroup this morning for a few hours. So we've had two wees in the potty, but more wees and poos in pants. I've done my best not to scold him, but the second poo this evening was followed by a bit of an interrogation I must admit. "Why didn't you say you needed a poo?", etc. He is quite a stubborn boy, and he has said for a long time that he's needed to "hide" when he wants to poo. He still does this, but sometimes I miss the cue as I have a four month old that also needs attending to! Has anyone else experienced the "hide" phenomenon, and how do you get a ds to tell you that he needs to wee/poo?! Is that the million dollar question?! I think he is old enough to be trained, (particularly as nappy changing has become such a battle ground).
