Right, i know dd is only 15 months but we are starting the santa tradition this year and my plan is that xmas eve there are no presents and then when she wakes up xmas morning the presents have appeared under the tree. Our presents to her will be wrapped and stored at gps house who are away so not a problem. what do i do when other relatives/friends turn up the week or so before xmas with presents? Do i sneak them in and hide them all here? Our house is small and dd goes everywhere. or is there a story why some presents appear early?
Also my uncle has a tendency to turn up boxing day? How can presents be late?

I'm guessing DD can't get to the top of the wardrobe? Put them there!

It's quite simple - gifts that come from auntie whoever are chosen and bought by the auntie (who gets a thank you letter) but delivered by Father Christmas to whom they are sent for delivery. Admittedly this makes Father Christmas some sort of festive FedEx but all the kids in my family believe this is how it works. As someone said, they believe because they want to believe.

Oh, and in my family we don't do presents from Father Christmas. They are all from friends/rellies but delivered by Father Christmas in the night.

In our house Sanata brings presies (from mummy and daddy) that turn up on christmas morning but all other gifts (unless posted) are opened when given as we stongly believe that whoever bought the gift should share in the joy of the dcs receiving them. When reles come over early dcs also give them their gifts at the same time. Otherwise christmas is just a material exercise in receiving gifts.
