What the hell is in this stuff?!?! and why don't they market it as a cure all?

I cut my hand yesterday (deep enough to bleed but nowhere near deep enough to need stitches or anything). Cleaned it up and saw the sudocream that we used to use for nappy rash so rubbed some of that on.

The cut is virtually non-existent today! Either I have obtained superhealing abilities in the last couple of days or that stuff is some serious goodness!

I remember it seemed to clear up nappy rash pretty fast, but I am impressed.

I use it for everything! My hands are very dry at the mo and cracking - Put some sudocream on last night and today they are lovely and soft!

Dp uses it on his spots and it clears them up!

Just don't ever try to use it as a stain remover - ds tried to do this when about 2. The couch has never been the same again!!

I religiously use this on dd's bum. It was a standing joke when I was growing up that mu mum used to CONSTANTLY say, 'put some sudocrem on it', no matter what the ailment.

Its fab stuff, we always have a tub in. Was a god send when I had my CS as they covered scar with a huge plaster (despite my notes saying I was allergic!) and this was the only thing that stopped the itching and cleared it.

DH is prone to bites and fab for those too.

I get itchy eczema patches on my hands and Sudocrem is really good for that.

Have never found it useful for nappy rash though - metanium for that every time!

I'm a fan also - use it all the time on any skin problem, tis also great as it's so cheap for a huge pot.

Just spotted this thread. DD2 loves to eat it - caught her twice yesterday tucking in!

I think it is fab too. I love the smell.

Love the old Sudocream. My nan, my mum and all my aunts used it and ordered me to get some when I had DS

We use it for DS's nappy rash and I put some on the dry skin on his forehead the other day and, after 6 weeks of it, it almost totally cleared up overnight!

Is it really good for eczema? My ds has little patches on his face and I've been using tiny smears of 1% hydrocortisone cream but I'm terrified I'm going to do some damage to his lovely face. If I could achieve the same with sudocreme I'd be one happy mama!

My dd (6mths) has mild eczema and we use Aveeno. It is quite good and is natural. I think Sudocreme says you can use it for eczema. No harm in trying.

will do. I usually put the hydrocortisol on at night and as it's quite thick it lasts a bit, so I guess sudocreme will be the same.

It pretty much IS marketed as a cure-all (read the tub!), it's just not marketed very well! Fab stuff, just realised we didn't pack some for the grandparents to put on DD's dry face, she'll come back all flakey tomorrow.
