Wets the minute trousers/pants or nappy put on!

DS2 age 3 can completely control his bladder when he has no pants or nappy on. He just potters in and out of bathroom, turns on light himself, even empties out potty into toilet and rinses it (haven't encouraged this but its what he likes to do)! But when he has pants on his can't stay dry or clean at all. It appears he isn't twigging that it isn't a nappy.

This is our second proper try at toilet training with him. The first time was at 2.5 and he did pretty well for a while but just lost interest and stopped botharing, I think, so we gave it a break.

Not sure whether I should just put up with nightwetting and try and get rid of nappies altogether to try and stop confusing him.

Has anyone else had this problem?

my ds was like this up until 3.5 and suddenly it all clicked we still use nappies for night he gets up takes it offa nd then puts trousers back on

just put pants on at home and use pull up still for outings to prevent accident but take to the toilet when out

at home keep just pants remind several times wearing pants if has accident put staight on potty or toilet and then put clean pants on he will get the idea it takes a while

if just started leave no pants for a week then put pants on when manages to pull up and down and no longer wets them add loose shorts or trousers and encourage to tell you when needing wee so you can also help

as for the night its a hormone that kicks in that keeps them dry if his not ready then keep nappies my ds nappies are getting dryer of a night hardly wees at all now so when dry for more than 3 days ill stop using them until then im keeping them on
