Down to my last £10, student bursary unit have not processed my bursary yet, any ideas how I can get them to speed it up so I can pay my bills?

I've already told them that I have to pay my rent or else I'll be evicted. They have lost the first form and had the second for 2 weeks. I keep phoning and they just keep on telling me it will take 30 days but I'm getting despirate. ds is asthmatic and he gets ill if he's too cold. The gas is on emergency credit. They won't even tell me if someone is looking at it. ARGH!!

Can you ask the uni for a grant/short term loan?

PhantomOfTheChocolateCake · 25/10/2008 21:54

They've already given me one. The letter said I couldn't ask them again. The tax credits go into my account on Thursday so I can use the £10 to buy gas with but I'm so annoyed. They don't seem to want to do anything to help.

can you visit their office in person? Threaten to inform your MP esp if they are putting you in line for eviction with child..
If they have lost your first form they should be more willing to help you

what about student union - do they still help with these things (sorry years since i studied) and not much more i can think of
but big sympathies and hope you can get it sorted soon

It's in Blackpool. A bit to far to go so I'm having to phone them up every day. They said to address it to a manager so they could do it but it made no difference. I can't even find out who has it so I can beg.

ah, i would make one last call and state that you need to know if this form is being processed and by whom
you are about to inform MP as you are near to being evicted from your property with child, a property that you can barely afford to heat

what about student union, citizen advice/rights places?
a call or letter from them might shunt them into action??

They look on the bloody computer every time I call ('computer says no'). My neighbour can be very (very)scary, I might ask her to phone them. At least we have food.

Thanks. I'll try the Uni tomorrow if they are still being an arse.

yes, get scary neighbor!
I would persue it through university also, you have dependent(s) and this is not on, their sloppy admin could result in your family being very cold and at worst evicted..

good luck with it
